The Nook

Enjoy your time in the Nook!

The second cabin has an open concept main room which includes a living, dining, and kitchen area. The second level has a master bedroom with a queen bed and a single size futon. There is a second bedroom with a full and a twin bed. There is an open loft walkway with an additional full sized bed.

There is a low wrap-around deck to enjoy the quiet of the woods, the beautiful views of Lake Michigan, and listen to the nearby waves. Walk along the short boardwalk to access the lake, splash in the shallow waters, and explore the shoreline. Use the Nook's canoe to paddle out to nearby Hog Island, a bird sanctuary. Near the cabin, there is a firepit with log-stump seating, and a picnic table.

In order to provide an allergy-free stay, this cabin does not allow any pets.

The Nook was finished in 2000 with lateral groove logwork method, using hand peeled Montana Douglas Fir. This cabin was built so Bob & Gail had a more comfortable place to stay in all seasons, while their children and grandchildren (and now great-grandchildren!) filled up the Lodge.
